I am a twenty-something living in San Diego, CA with my boyfriend and our fur child, Stanley. I have lived in Southern California my entire life. I’m spoiled by beautiful weather and gorgeous beaches. I love to CrossFit and cook healthy food.
I grew up cheerleading and never lifted a weight in my life. I finally joined a gym in 2007 and never looked back. Back then, my goal was lose weight, look better, be happy. However I discovered that losing weight did not make me look better or feel happy.
Sitting around during the summer of 2011, I signed up for my first half marathon. I found a training plan (thanks to Hal Higdon) and stuck with it for 12 weeks. On November 11, 2011, I ran the Silver Strand Half Marathon and was hooked. I immediately signed up for the Carlsbad Half in January 2012.
In June I got the running itch again and signed up for a full. Everybody thought I was crazy, but I knew it was something I wanted to accomplish. Ya know.. the whole bucket list thingy. I trained and trained throughout San Diego (keeping it exciting) and on November 10, 2012 I ran the Santa Barbara International Marathon. It was one of the most exhausting yet exhilarating experiences of my life so far.
After the marathon I knew I wanted to take a running break. This is where my new love, CrossFit, comes into place. I tried my first class, and the rest is history…
